The Broken Beats are a Danish band from Aarhus, founded in 2001 by singer-guitarist Kim Munk. They describe their sound as "whirling power pop" - a blend of pop and rock drawing on British and Swedish influences, with experimental touches - and are widely regarded as one of Denmark's most original acts of the 2000s and 2010s. Songs like "The Rules" and "Essentials" received heavy rotation on DR P3 and P4, with "The Rules" serving as the theme for the DR2 programme "Manden med de gyldne ører". In 2026 the band returned with their seventh album, Riviera Dreams, backed by a European tour.
The seventh album Riviera Dreams was released on March 16, 2026 with 15 tracks, including the single "Careless" and collaborations with, among others, Niclas Frisk.
