The Prodigy are a British electronic band from Braintree, Essex, formed in 1990 by Liam Howlett. Blending rave, punk and breakbeat into a sound entirely their own, they broke through globally with albums like "Music for the Jilted Generation" and "The Fat of the Land", and singles such as "Firestarter" and "Breathe" have become cornerstones of electronic music. With over 25 million records sold worldwide and seven UK number one albums, they rank alongside Elton John and Paul McCartney in that regard. Following the death of frontman Keith Flint in 2019, Liam Howlett and Maxim have continued performing and recording as The Prodigy.
