Waleed Safi is a Danish journalist specialising in the Middle East, who has spent over a decade covering the region for major Danish newspapers. He speaks four Arabic dialects and has lived in Cairo, Baghdad, Beirut and other cities across the region. In 2025 he published "Alle veje fører til Mekka", an account of his journey to Mecca disguised as a pilgrim.
