Bellahøj Friluftsscene

Copenhagen

About the venue

Bellahøj Friluftsscene is an open-air amphitheatre in the Brønshøj district of Copenhagen, designed by landscape architect C.Th. Sørensen and inaugurated in 1954. It was built using surplus soil from the construction of the nearby Bellahøj housing blocks and seats up to 2,000 people. The venue hosts concerts, theatre performances and the annual St. John's Eve bonfire, and the neighbouring Bellahøj School uses it for outdoor lessons. A major renovation in 2020 gave the amphitheatre a new stage, restored seating steps and improved accessibility.
