About the venue

Den Sorte Diamant - the Black Diamond - is the Royal Library's striking harbour extension, completed in 1999 to a design by Schmidt Hammer Lassen. Its polished black granite facade rises directly from the waterfront of the Inner Harbour. The building hosts concerts, exhibitions and literary events alongside its role as a working research library.
