Skovriderkroen on Strandvejen in Charlottenlund opened in 1936 and has been a local gathering place ever since. The original inn featured an elegant dining room, hotel rooms and a theatre hall whose back wall could be opened to the surrounding nature. After going bankrupt in 1985 and a stint as a nightclub, it reopened as a restaurant in 2008. Today it houses the restaurant Kroen 1936 and event spaces for up to 350 seated guests - weddings, corporate parties and conferences - with DJ dancing in the bar every Friday and Saturday.
