Vartov is a listed historic building next to Copenhagen City Hall, owned and run by Grundtvigsk Forum. Originally built as a hospital with its own church, it served as the workplace of N.F.S. Grundtvig, who was priest here from 1839 until his death in 1872. Today it houses the Grundtvig Academy, the Grundtvig Library and a range of cultural associations, hosting lectures, conferences and events in the spirit of Grundtvig.
