Reading & Song: Collapse and Siren
Bank og Sparekassemuseet, Copenhagen · 0 kr.
An evening featuring author Jonas Eika reading from his novella Alvin, followed by classical soprano Laura Helene Hansen performing original songs. Eika reads from Alvin in the collection After the Sun, which won him the Nordic Council's Literature Prize in 2018. He is also known for the historical novel Open Sky and made his debut in 2015 with The Warehouse, The House, Marie. In Alvin, the protagonist arrives in Copenhagen to work at a bank that has apparently collapsed, entering a world of derivative trading where time flows away.
Laura Helene Hansen studied classical singing at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and the Opera Academy, completing her soloist training at the Royal Danish Conservatory. In 2026 she was named Talent of the Year in Opera. For this event, she performs songs of her own creation.
This event is part of the series Exercises in Unrest, running alongside the special exhibition Restless Economics at the Bank and Savings Bank Museum in 2026. The museum opens at 18:00 - one hour before the event. The event takes place in the special exhibition and is primarily in Danish. Contact the museum for accessibility information.
