Open Rehearsal of Unknown

At this open rehearsal, the audience gets a glimpse into the creation of Unknown, which premieres on 10 March 2027. This is not a finished performance - each open rehearsal is different, offering a window into what the production is about and how theatre is created from the ground up.

Unknown is a performance without a recognizable performer. Instead, the audience moves through a strange and distorted universe inspired by Metropolis, Alice in Wonderland, and The Wizard of Oz. Technology guides the journey, and the audience's choices seem to shape the narrative's direction - the boundary between observing and participating gradually dissolves. Beneath the surface, the performance raises questions about control, empathy, and human value: who holds the power - the algorithm, the illusion, the community, or the individual?

The performance is a production by Nordisk Teaterlaboratorium, developed in collaboration with German media artists Juliana & Andrey Wrady. The work explores how AI, projection, and human presence can be combined.
