BLAA - Vandborg

BLAA Vandborg emerged from Mika Vandborg's solo performance at Amager Bio, where he celebrated Eric Clapton's 80th birthday - an evening that made clear to both him and the audience that he had to return to the roots that shaped him as a guitarist. Blues is the foundation, but the band also ventures into rock and roll, soul, and funk-tinged arrangements with a repertoire of both original and cover songs.

The ensemble behind Mika includes singer and guitarist Morten Larsen, who has spent 53 years on the road, Dutch keyboardist Bob Fridzema - who has toured the world with names like Walter Trout, Devon Allman, Glen Hughes, Bernie Marsden, Bernard Allison, Jo Ann Taylor, and Dana Fuchs - bassist Henrik SP Poulsen, who for four decades has played with Elevatordrengene/Helmig, Sko/Torp, Sanne, Gnags, OneTwo, and Sebastian, and drummer Jakob Rønlov, known from Jesper Binzer's band and tours with Walter Trout and Swedish actor Peter Stormare.

Mika Vandborg has worked with Gnags, Loveshop, Dicte, Claus Hempler, and Ida Nielsen, and is also a solo artist, songwriter, and half of Electric Guitars with Søren Andersen.
