About the venue: Kulturhuset Rejsestalden

Kulturhuset Rejsestalden occupies a building from 1875 that was originally part of Jægerspris Hotel, converted into a cultural centre in 1995 and now run by Frederikssund Kommune together with volunteers. The programme spans concerts, lectures, art exhibitions and children's activities, and the venue also opens its doors to events organised by local groups. Regular fixtures include the Blå Nat culture night, Mormors Kagebord and the annual Christmas tree lighting.

About: Leif Sylvester

Born in 1940 on Amager and trained as a carpenter before becoming everything else, Leif Sylvester has left his mark on Danish culture as a street performer, songwriter, actor and visual artist. From the street circus he ran with Erik Clausen to the hit 'Mormors kolonihavehus' and memorable roles in Taxa and Rita, his work spans decades and carries a consistent social conscience.

The minister's son from outside Aarhus who swapped the church choir for a blues guitar at 16 is now a road-hardened veteran with nearly four decades of touring behind him.
