Bus trip to Søborg Sø in North Zealand on August 29 — Græsted

Søborg Sø:
Søborg Sø in North Zealand is a shallow lake of approximately 350 hectares undergoing restoration. Agriculture has ceased, and the pumps were turned off in September 2025. Since then, water has flowed in, birds have arrived, and a new nature area has emerged.

For comparison, Egå Engsø covers 117 hectares with approximately 60 hectares of meadows around it. Restoration of Kolindsund to its original extent would cover approximately 2,500 hectares, with the Nature Agency's preliminary investigation including approximately 3,500 hectares including the shoreline.

The trip:
Full-day bus tour via Molslinjen with pickups from Kolind Station at 7:00, Klokhøjen at 7:35, and Aarhus Harbour at 8:10. The bus journey from Sjællands Odde to Søborg Sø takes just over 1.5 hours. In the area itself, we drive and walk around the magnificent restored lake area. Henrik Boegh from DOF-North Zealand is the guide. We meet other local stakeholders: farmer Kaare Larsen, Ida Dahl-Nielsen, project manager at the Nature Agency, and a representative from the consulting firm WSP. On the way out or back, we pass Denmark's largest lake, Arresø. In the afternoon, we return to Odden, from where the ferry departs at 18:30. Bus from Aarhus to Klokhøjen and to Kolind at approximately 21:00.

Price and registration:
The organising associations provide a substantial subsidy for the trip. Therefore, the participant fee is only 475 kr. per person including bus, ferry, programme, and lunch on Zealand. The registration deadline is June 15.
