Book Club: 'Pigedyr' by Cecilie Lind

The novel follows Sara - neither child nor adult - through puberty, with all its longing, infatuation, and desire. The narrative moves toward a boundary where power and powerlessness, love and violation blur together. The priest's hands and a friend's father's hands rest on her forehead, her chest. Men will take and give.

Cecilie Lind received the Critics' Prize for the book, which has now been adapted into a film starring Trine Dyrholm, Christian Tafdrup, and Thure Lindhardt. The book club is reading it ahead of the film's premiere. Members can pick up the book during staffed opening hours from October 16.
