The Sound of Kronborg's Musical Golden Age

Musica Ficta and conductor Bo Holten present "The Sound of Kronborg's Musical Golden Age" at Kastelskirken in Copenhagen on Saturday, 12 September 2026 at 17:00. The concert marks the release of the new eight-CD box set The Kronborg Collection, which explores music from Kronborg's Renaissance court during the reigns of Christian III, Frederik II and Christian IV. The programme features highlights from the collection - works by Dowland, Schütz and Flemish masters alongside world premiere recordings of composers including Palestrina, de Wert and Vecchi. Kastelskirken, a Baroque church built in 1704 within the Kastellet fortress, provides an authentic setting for Renaissance-era music. Musica Ficta performs two Danish dates on this tour; the Copenhagen concert is followed by a performance in Odense on 28 August. Admission 100 kr.
