Musica Ficta is a professional Danish vocal ensemble based in Copenhagen, founded in 1996 by composer and conductor Bo Holten. The group typically numbers between 12 and 16 singers depending on the repertoire, and works exclusively on thematic projects where historical and literary perspectives shape the programming. Its core speciality is medieval and Renaissance polyphony, though the ensemble has also recorded extensively from the Danish song tradition, releasing around 30 albums since its founding.
Musica Ficta and Bo Holten release on 4 September 2026 the box set The Kronborg Collection: Music in Denmark 1550-1650 on Dacapo Records - eight CDs with music from Kronborg and the Danish court in the Renaissance.
