Nature Day in Gjern - Trash Festival and NATURE MAGIC!!!
Nature Day at Teglværksgrunden in Gjern opens this year's Trash Festival. You can try your hand at scything, build nesting boxes for small birds, go on a stream safari and hear talks about local nature.
The event is organized by the local biodiversity group, Gjern Local Council and the Family Scouts, who are working to transform the old industrial site - with contained contamination - into a nature area near the town with space for recreation and nature experiences.
After bonfire food around 12:00, magician Gustav takes over around 13:00. His nature show is about fish, birds and plants, and he combines magic with taxidermied animals, balloons and expert explanations at children's eye level - with binoculars around his neck and rosy cheeks.
Meeting point is Teglværksgrunden in Gjern, at the end of Teglværksvej. The final programme will be announced during August - changes are reserved. The event is part of the Trash Festival, an annual festival in week 38 with a focus on waste reduction and reuse, organized by Silkeborg Municipality, Silkeborg Utilities and Silkeborg Libraries.
