Fire, Water, Earth, Air

The documentary 'Fire, Water, Earth, Air' explores what happens when the climate crisis draws near, and how community becomes the most important safeguard. The film visits four Nordic communities in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and the Faroe Islands - including the small Danish island of Skarø - and brings everyday people's experiences into dialogue with science. The narrative is hopeful: old bonds with nature and with each other can point toward new shared solutions.

After the event, there is an opportunity to stay and participate in active organizing in groups led by Signe Schrøder - in the cinema foyer from 16:30-17:00.

About the speakers

Phie Ambo is a documentary filmmaker educated from the Danish Film School in 2003, founder of the Green Free School and the climate choir GOD ENERGI, and part of the Fossil Free Future movement. Her films include 'So Much Good Ahead' (2014) and the trilogy 'Mechanical Love' (2007), 'Free the Mind' (2012), and 'When You Look Away' (2017). Over the past ten years, she has worked with climate and biodiversity through film and green communities.

Nina Baron is a lecturer at the Disaster and Risk Management programme with a background in sociology. She researches climate adaptation and preparedness, including decision-making processes, cross-sector collaboration, risk communication, and citizen engagement.

Signe Schrøder leads Green Neighbourhood Communities in Sorø and runs the farm Bjerregaarden with an apple orchard in Kirke Eskildstrup. She has helped train 950 wild-garden mentors, advised on wild nature projects, and regularly gives talks on wild nature.

The event is part of the series Climate Rethought, which combines professional, literary, and artistic knowledge with action.
