Comic Strip Workshop - Future Stories
Børnekulturhus Ama´r, Copenhagen
At the comic strip studio, stories are told with lines, not words. You don't need to be able to write or spell, but comics can also be used as a playful way to explore language visually. Today's theme is Future Stories: What does a school look like in the future? Do we still have phones? Have we found a way to talk to animals? Maybe your characters have found a time machine - what happens when they land in a strange century? If you already have an idea, you're welcome to pursue it instead.
Participants receive help building their own universe and populating it with characters. There's plenty of inspiration material to browse through, and the workshop covers speech bubbles, composition, colours and expression. There will also be a large collaborative comic strip where everyone contributes one image and continues the story.
The Saturday workshop is drop-in and open from 10:00 to 14:30. The leader is always a trained artist, architect, set designer or designer. The price is 40 kr. per person - everyone pays, both children and adults who participate. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and adults are expected to take responsibility for their children throughout the visit.
