The Meaningful Life According to Science: Wednesday 28 October 2026, 18:30–20:30, Holstebro Bibliotek, Holstebro. Tickets cost 0–50 kr.
Lecturer and Ph.D. Hans Henrik Hjermitslev from UC SYD examines the relationship between science and a meaningful life, drawing on examples from the history of science - including how Darwinism has been used to defend everything from atheistic worldviews to racial hygiene.
This lecture is part of Vidensfestival 2026, where Holstebro Folkeuniversitet explores one of life's great existential questions: what makes life meaningful? The festival approaches the topic from multiple disciplines, including philosophy, literature, and theology, and also returns to concepts from antiquity.
Tickets cost 50 kr. Folkeuniversitetet's regular customers and students can collect free tickets via holstebrofolkeuniversitet.dk.
The event is a collaboration between Holstebro Folkeuniversitet and Holstebro Bibliotek.
