Jakob Draminsky Højmark is a composer and musician rooted in music-dramatic narratives, sound art, and improvisation. Since the 1980s, he has created ten international music-dramatic chamber productions, released several albums, and composed soundtracks for his own and others' video and theatre works. Key moments in his career include the improvisation scene in East Berlin before the fall of the Wall, the avant-garde Catalan theatre scene, and classical Japanese Noh theatre.
Draminsky was associated with the experimental music scene in Barcelona from 1990 to 2007 and won second prize in the Henning Larsen Foundation's international competition Music and Architecture in 2017. His live music for Holger Madsen's anti-war film Himmelskibet from 1918 has been performed in recent years in Denmark, Japan, and Taiwan.
