Spinning Course in Nordborg
This course is for beginners - both those experienced with yarn and those who have never worked with wool before. You will learn to spin wool into yarn on a spinning wheel or hand spindle and gain knowledge of the entire process from raw wool to finished yarn.
The programme covers theory on wool preparation, spinning technique, plying and finishing, but most of the day is practical. You will go home with a small skein of your own spun yarn. Coffee and tea are included; bring your own lunch. Spinning fibres for use during the course are included in the price, and there will be extra wool for sale if you want to continue at home.
Remember to bring your own spinning wheel and/or hand spindle - if you don't have one, you can borrow one by arrangement.
The course takes place at Nordborg Hørfabrik, an old factory building in central Nordborg, which houses an alpaca wool spinning mill and a weaving studio with antique looms.
