Prevention Day

Hovedstadens Beredskab (Copenhagen Emergency Services) hosts Prevention Day for professionals working in operations, fire prevention, or emergency planning in institutions and businesses. The morning combines practical knowledge with the opportunity to meet emergency inspectors and advisors face-to-face.

The day opens with a welcome and introduction by Elias Samsø Larsen, area manager for Brandsyn. Emergency inspector Chris Nørager Garforth then takes the floor: as incident commander, he was among the first on scene when a fire broke out in a residential building on Grøndals Parkvej in Vanløse in 2022. He shares his personal account and how construction defects and inadequate fire safety measures allowed the fire to spread across five floors, leaving more than 90 families homeless.
