In this lecture, Kim Bo Larsen draws on three expeditions to Svalbard - one of the world's northernmost regions, where the balance between success and disaster is razor-sharp.

It is not a lecture about hunger and exhausted muscles. Instead, Kim speaks about what stirs within when surrounded by beauty that, together with a steep glacier ascent, takes your breath away. About feeling wildness in your heart. And about why a good whisky and pipe tobacco weigh more than the two kilos you could have saved in your backpack.

Along the way we encounter meetings with polar bears, a storm in the tent, and the poems Kim has written to the sound of the primus stove melting snow for dinner. The lecture is accompanied by photographs from the expeditions.
