Iceland from North to South

Iceland from North to South - lecture: Monday 1 February 2027, 19:00–21:30, Grauballe Skole, Silkeborg. Tickets cost 100 kr.

The lecture "Iceland from North to South" takes the audience on a journey through Iceland - from glaciers and steaming geysers to deep lava caves beneath moss-covered mountains. Along the way, many photographs are shown, and the tour is enriched with saga narratives and stories from Icelandic folklore.

Lecturer Lise Hvarregaard travels through Iceland and visits the country several times a year. She holds a cand.mag. degree, is a lecturer and author, and has previously been a lecturer at the University of Iceland. Her academic background includes a thesis on Icelandic sagas and modern Icelandic literature, as well as six books on Iceland, cultural history, saga literature, Icelandic horses, and Halldór Laxness. Her most recent work, Halldór Laxness and the Horses, was published in 2025.
