Astrid and Katrine Grarup Elbo are sisters with distinct artistic practices who meet in this performance.

Astrid Grarup Elbo is a principal dancer at the Royal Danish Ballet. Drawing on ballet's traditions, she explores the roles and female ideals she has been expected to dance throughout her life - and what happens when the ballerina breaks free from objectification and claims her own voice. In 2023, she received multiple five-star reviews for her lead role in I AM GOLD at Betty Nansen Theatre. Katrine Grarup Elbo is a violinist, composer, and performer working at the intersection of composition, improvisation, performance, and installation - investigating how music emerges in dialogue with a space, a body, and an audience.

Together they form La Mia Bella Sorella, a performative collaboration where the boundary between dance and music dissolves, so you can see the music and hear the dance. This afternoon draws on fragments from earlier works by La Mia Bella Sorella and OB(E)JECT, creating a new performance where composition, improvisation, dance, and sound continuously influence each other.
