The Curator's Perspective: Life, Longing & Landscape - Thorvaldsen's Painting Collection
Thorvaldsens Museum, Copenhagen · 110 kr. · ≈ 15 €
Curator's perspective - Thorvaldsen's paintings: 1 October – 28 January 2026, Thorvaldsens Museum, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 110 kr.
Curator and museum director Annette Johansen takes you behind the scenes of the special exhibition "Life, Longing & Landscape" on two guided evening tours: October 1st and November 17th, 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
The tours take place after closing hours and focus on the stories and perspectives within Thorvaldsen's Painting Collection - including romantic ruins, mountains, and colourful celebrations, all popular motifs of the era. Several works have not been on display for many years, partly because they fall outside the traditional narrative of Danish Golden Age art.
The tour begins at 5:00 PM in the museum's entrance hall. Your ticket also serves as a regular museum admission ticket for the entire day, so you have the opportunity to see the rest of the collection beforehand. Note that annual pass holders must purchase a separate ticket to participate in the tour.
Places are limited, and tickets must be purchased in advance. The museum is located at Bertel Thorvaldsens Plads 2, 1213 Copenhagen.
