Throw Pottery in the Morning - 10-Week Course with Marianne Krumbach
Keramikværkstedet KFF, Copenhagen · 3200 kr. · ≈ 428 €
Pottery course - throw on the wheel with Marianne Krumbach: 9 November – 18 January 2026, Keramikværkstedet KFF, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 3200 kr.
Learn to throw pottery in the cosy workshop at Vesterbro Library and Cultural Centre. The course is for beginners and those with some experience - whether you've never tried throwing or just need more practice with the fundamentals. Participants' levels may vary throughout the course.
We start with centring, pulling up to a cylinder, and throwing simple forms, then progress to trimming, attaching handles, and glazing. You'll get an introduction to different stoneware clays suitable for throwing and an overview of the necessary tools. Each session ends with a thorough cleaning of the workshop.
The instructor, Marianne Krumbach, is a graduate of the Design School in Kolding and works from her own studio in Copenhagen NV. In recent years her work has focused mainly on modelled, nature-inspired sculptural objects, but she also works periodically with thrown projects. She has exhibited in Denmark and abroad. See more at www.mariannekrumbach.dk and instagram.com/mariannekrumbach.
The course runs over 10 Mondays from 9 November 2026 to 18 January 2027, with no teaching in week 53 (28 December 2026). The group has space for 10 participants. The price covers instruction and materials, including 8 kg of clay plus kiln firing and glazing - extra clay can be purchased for up to 3 kg. Participants help with tidying and cleaning, and the workshop may only be used during lesson times. Bring clothes that can get dirty.
Translation to English is available for English-speaking participants - let the teacher know at the first lesson. The ticket cannot be refunded from 14 days before the course starts.
