Throw Pottery in the Morning - 10-Week Course with Marianne Krumbach

Pottery course for beginners at Vesterbro Bibliotek og Kulturhus: 9 November – 18 January 2026, Vesterbro Bibliotek og Kulturhus, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 3200 kr.

This course is for beginners - whether you've never thrown before or need more practice with basic throwing techniques. The instruction covers centering, pulling up to a cylinder, and throwing simple forms, plus trimming, handle attachment, and glazing. You'll be introduced to different stoneware clays suitable for throwing and the tools used in the process. Each session ends with thorough cleaning.

The instructor is Marianne Krumbach, trained at the Design School in Kolding. She works from her studio in Copenhagen NW and has spent recent years primarily creating modeled, nature-inspired sculptural objects, though she also works periodically with thrown projects. The course takes place in the ceramic studios at Vesterbro Library and Cultural Centre. The price covers instruction and materials. All participants are expected to help with cleanup and tidying on equal terms with other studio users, keeping the workshops healthy and clean to work in.
