As a prelude to Holstebro Municipality's Flag Day for Denmark's Deployed, retired Brigadier General Carsten Rasmussen gives a lecture in the Library Hall at Holstebro Library.

He traces his career from cavalry officer in Holstebro through international missions in Bosnia and Afghanistan to diplomatic service in Poland, China, Korea and Russia - and concludes with his volunteer work as national chairman of Denmark's Veterans & Veterans Support.

Tickets cost 25 kr., and the entire amount goes to Denmark's Veterans and Veterans Support's Emergency Aid. The event is organized in collaboration between Holstebro Library and Culture, Business & Labour Market, Holstebro Municipality.

About the venue: Holstebro Bibliotek

Holstebro Bibliotek is the main public library for Holstebro municipality, first opened in 1903 as "Holstebro og Omegns Folkebogsamling". The building covers 6,450 square metres across three floors and adjoins Holstebro Town Hall, with a distinctive exterior of rounded arches and towers. Between the library and the town hall lies Bibliotekssalen, a hall with a stage and tiered seating. Branch libraries are located in Ulfborg and Vinderup.
