Kvarterhuset, Copenhagen · 50 kr. · ≈ 7 €
Create your own botanical perfume: Thursday 5 November 2026, 17:30–19:30, Kvarterhuset, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 50 kr.
What does Amager actually smell like - and what happens when Danish plants meet scents from the Amazon and Peru? This sensory and family-friendly workshop invites you to explore plants and fragrances from Denmark and Peru while creating your own botanical perfume. From Amager to the Amazon, nature is interconnected, and through your senses you'll discover the link between local and global ecosystems. Scent awakens memories, sharpens perception, stimulates the mind, and sparks creativity.
The workshop suits all ages and is perfect for grandparents with grandchildren. Your finished perfume can become a Christmas gift with a story you've created yourself. The programme includes plants and plant wisdom from Denmark and Peru, insights into Amager, the Amazon, and the world's ecosystems, fragrance notes and botanical ingredients, and the process of crafting your own personal perfume.
The workshop takes place at Kvarterhuset, Amagerbro / Copenhagen South, Thursday 5 November, 17:30-19:30 (2 hours), facilitated by Maria Tauber Wiese. Price is 50 kr. per person, with a maximum of 20 participants. Children under 10 are welcome with an adult. Registration is via link, and places are limited.
Thanks to Amager East Local Committee for support and to Kvarterhuset for collaborating to create a space for this meeting of art, nature and culture.
The event is part of the art project The World We Live In and FERTILE LAND, which creates artistic encounters between Denmark and the Amazon. Nature and culture educator, artist and healer Maria Tauber Wiese lived and worked in the Peruvian Amazon for 10 years and maintains a close connection to the rainforest. Through art, nature and the senses, she highlights the connection between people and nature: "Everything I do is a tribute to what I have learned from people in nature."
