Communication and Baby Signs workshop: Friday 13 November 2026, 10:30–11:30, Tingbjerg Bibliotek\Kulturhus, Copenhagen. Tickets cost 25 kr.
Postnatal workshop for expectant parents and their partners, as well as parents with babies aged 0-12 months.
Before a baby can speak, it can be difficult to understand what it is trying to communicate. This lecture shows how you can still communicate with your child before language develops, while stimulating their language development. Through words, sound play, rhythm, and baby signs, you will gain tools to better understand your baby's spontaneous signals, including crying. The session also briefly covers factors that can delay language development, and includes a singing game and a few somersaults.
You are welcome to sit on a chair or bring your own blanket or yoga mat with your baby. Diaper changes, breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and baby sounds are all welcome during the session. After the lecture, notes will be sent by email to interested participants. Please bring soft padding for yourself and your baby.
The lecture is for (grand)parents with children aged 0-12 months, but expectant parents and their partners are also welcome. It takes place in the Hall on the ground floor and is held in Danish, though questions in English are welcome - everyone can participate. The instructor is authorized physiotherapist and first aid instructor Marianne Mogensen from Fysio-firstaid.dk, who has also written the book "After Birth - Training and Baby Play".
From 10:00 you can buy a homemade bun at Café Mors Varme Hænder, or you can stay for lunch from 12:00. The project is supported by Brønshøj-Husum Local Committee.
