Meet author Deniz Kiy

Meet author Deniz Kiy: Saturday 21 November 2026, 12:30–13:30, Holstebro Bibliotek, Holstebro. Admission is free.

Author Deniz Kiy visits Holstebro Library. He writes poetically and sensually about home, identity, and his own experiences as a minority, and his texts move freely between genres, blending social realism with a magical, lyrical perspective on the world.

His novel Blokkene (2025) is a collective novel about growing up, community, and what we carry with us through life. It was nominated for the DR Novel Prize in 2026. Kiy works with prose, poetry, and hybrid forms.

At the event, he will talk about life as a writer and share his thoughts and creative processes, with time for questions from the audience.

Deniz Kiy (born 1994) graduated from the Danish Writers' School in 2019 and made his debut in April 2021 with the poetry collection Blå øje (Türkü). In September 2025, his first novel, Blokkene, was published.

The event is a collaboration between the Danish Talent Academy's Writers' Programme and Holstebro Library, which together invite Danish authors to read aloud, discuss their works, and share their sources of inspiration.

Free admission. The event takes place in Lillesalen.
