Skumringstime

Skumringstime - readings and community singing: Monday 9 November 2026, 18:30–20:30, Holstebro Bibliotek, Holstebro. Admission is free.

Every November, we hold the traditional Skumringstime, when we - just like in the other Nordic countries and the Baltic states - light candles and read aloud during the darkest time of year. This year's theme is Democracy in the Nordic Region.

We will read from the picture book "Who Decides Anything?" written by Jesper Wung-Sung and illustrated by Swedish-Finnish illustrator Jenny Lucander. The book is a simple, philosophical story about what you decide for yourself in your life as a child. The reader is Søren Landkildehus, Business and Labour Market Manager at Holstebro Municipality.

The evening also includes communal singing of Nordic songs with Kirsten Mehlsen at the piano.

Tickets are free and can be collected in advance. The event takes place in the Library Hall and is arranged by the Association NORDEN Holstebro and Holstebro Library.
