Writing Workshop: Narrative Nonfiction — Brønshøj Bibliotek, Copenhagen
Free entry

Narrative nonfiction is the genre where real events are told using literary techniques. In this workshop, you'll work on combining research, facts, and personal voices with narrative methods, and finding the balance between documentation and artistic freedom.

The workshop provides practical tools in four areas: research and source criticism, narrative techniques (scenes, dialogue, perspective), ethics and responsibility toward the people whose stories you tell, and your own voice and personal angle. Teaching alternates between short writing exercises, concrete examples, and group feedback.

The instructor is Mette Mayli Albæk - journalist, author, and nonfiction editor at Politikens Forlag - with a background as an investigative journalist and editor.

The workshop is for adults and takes place 16:30-18:30 in the event room on the 1st floor of Brønshøj Library. Participation is free but requires registration via Billetto. Bring your own laptop and/or paper and pen, as computers are not provided. Questions can be sent to literature coordinator Emma at b67j@kk.dk.
