Writing Workshop - Narrative Nonfiction
A narrative nonfiction workshop with journalist and author Mette Mayli Albæk exploring research, dialogue, ethics, and personal voice in telling true stories.
Mette Mayli Albæk (born 1988) is a Danish journalist, author and publishing director for non-fiction at Politikens Forlag. She built her reputation as an investigative journalist at DR and Jyllands-Posten, co-writing the bestseller 'Spionchefen' (2022) with former intelligence chief Lars Findsen and leading the award-winning series 'Systemets Børn', which exposed serious failures in forced-adoption cases.
Albæk tells in an interview with Medietrends about his career change from the media industry to the book industry and work on a new digital strategy for Politikens Forlag.
Albæk is appointed as keynote speaker at Publicistfesten 2025 arranged by Publicistklubben.
Albæk takes office on 1 January 2025 as publishing director for non-fiction at Politikens Forlag and succeeds Kim Hundevadt, who left the position after 14 years.
It is announced in August 2024 that Albæk is leaving his position as society editor at Jyllands-Posten to become publishing director at Politikens Forlag.
'The Spy Chief - Memoirs from Cell 18', written with Lars Findsen, is published in October 2022 and becomes the best-selling book of the year in Denmark.
