Considering solar panels on your roof? ProjectZero invites homeowners in Sønderborg to a free event where Erik Olsen - one of the founders behind SolarSim - demonstrates the tool and answers questions.

SolarSim calculates the potential for solar panels on your specific roof using detailed elevation data and takes into account local plans, Danish electricity spot prices, taxes and surcharges. With just a few questions, you get an overview of payback time, savings on your electricity bill, recommended system size, whether a battery makes sense, and how much CO₂ you save. The tool does not sell solar panels and has no financial interest in your decision.

Sønderborg Municipality is giving all residents access to SolarSim for a limited period. During the event you can try it yourself on a mobile device or laptop and get help with the calculation - have your electricity consumption ready for the most accurate result.

About the venue: Videnshuset

Videnshuset is an office building on Sønderborg Harbour, completed in 2013 to designs by Schmidt/Hammer/Lassen. It forms part of Frank Gehry's masterplan for the harbour area and spans five floors with 4,750 m² of office space, plus shared canteen and meeting rooms on the ground floor. The copper-coloured facade and a rooftop terrace with views over Alssund are its most distinctive features. The building was constructed to low-energy standards under Building Class 2020, with solar panels and wind-power supply.
