Slalum & Stryg takes the stage at Mejeriet in Sønderborg on Friday, 25 September 2026 at 20:00. The project brings together rapper Slalum and composer Simon Buhl Sørensen, with a string quartet reimagining Slalum's songs in acoustic arrangements that blur the line between hip-hop and classical music. This is one of three Danish tour dates. Mejeriet is Sønderborg's youth culture venue, housed in a renovated dairy building from the early 1900s. The concert hall is a black box space of approximately 170 square metres. Admission is 170 kroner.

About the venue: Mejeriet

Mejeriet is Sønderborg's youth culture house, set in a renovated early-20th-century dairy building - hence the name. It caters to young people aged 15 to 30 and includes a concert hall (a black box of around 170 m²), a lounge, a music studio, two meeting rooms, a workshop room and an inner courtyard. Concerts and open-stage nights are open to all ages. The venue sits directly opposite the regional concert hall Sønderborghus.

About: Maiken Thunbo

Cellist Maiken Thunbo ranks among the most sought-after young musicians on the Danish jazz scene. Her work with Jazzkonkurrencen 2025 winners Zinssou Quartet, alongside live stints with Østen and Carlina de Place, has shown how naturally the cello can anchor an evening across genres.
