Rediscovered: Dea Trier Mørch with Pernille Ipsen and Johanne Mygind

An evening celebrating Dea Trier Mørch (1941-2001) - her artistic work, her writing, and the questions her books continue to raise about motherhood, political community, and the transformation of Danish welfare society. The event takes place as part of 'Klassikerdagen'.

Mørch reached a broad audience with novels such as 'Kastaniealleen' (1974), 'Vinterbørn' (1976), and 'Hvide løgne' (1995). 'Vinterbørn' sold over 100,000 copies and was adapted into a film in 1978. The novel follows 18 women admitted to Rigshospitalet's maternity ward in 1975, where social divisions temporarily dissolve - until the women's husbands arrive.

Author and journalist Pernille Ipsen, who is publishing 'Spring' - the first major biography of Mørch - discusses her work with the author's writing. She is in conversation with Johanne Mygind, who debuted with 'Kærlighedens år' (2021) and in 2025 published the novel 'Giftig'.

Admission is free, and there are no reserved seats. The hall on the 4th floor, Store Scene, Copenhagen Main Library, opens at 16:30, and the programme runs from 17:00 to 18:00. From the Central Hall (entrance from Krystalgade), an elevator and stairs to the right lead up to the floor - the stage is to the right when you exit. Please note that the view of the stage is limited from certain seats, so it may be worth arriving early.
