High School Choir Concert: Fauré's Requiem

Regional high school choirs from Sønderborg, Haderslev, Aabenraa, and Sydslesvig join together for a performance of Fauré's Requiem under the direction of conductor Christian Øland.

Fauré's Requiem stands apart from many other requiem settings by turning away from apocalyptic imagery. Death is presented as a gentle transition to rest - a comforting tone that has made the work one of the most performed requiems in the world.
