About the venue: Skråen I Nordkraft

Skråen is Northern Jutland's main rhythmic music venue and has operated as a music association since 1978, making it one of the oldest in Denmark. In 2009 it moved to the Nordkraft cultural centre in Aalborg, where it now puts on around 300 events a year. The hall holds up to 650 standing or about 450 seated guests, with a programme ranging from rock and jazz concerts to stand-up comedy and lectures. In summer, Skråen also organises the outdoor festivals Skovrock and Fredagsfest i Karolinelund.

About: David Francey

Scottish-born David Francey traded his carpenter's tools for a guitar at 45 after decades of rail yards and construction sites across Canada - and four Juno Awards and thirteen albums later, that late start has proved anything but a handicap. His folk songs about working-class life, the Canadian landscape, and human loss have made him one of the country's most respected voices in the genre.
