Writing Workshop: Narrative Nonfiction
Nørrebro Bibliotek, Copenhagen · Free
A writing workshop for adults exploring narrative nonfiction - the genre where real events are shaped into stories using literary techniques.
The workshop covers four areas: research and source criticism, narrative techniques (scenes, dialogue, sensory details and perspective), ethics and responsibility when telling others' stories, and finding your own voice. You'll work through short writing exercises and concrete examples, with time for discussion and feedback throughout.
The workshop is led by Mette Mayli Albæk, a journalist, author and nonfiction editor at Politikens Forlag, with a background in investigative journalism and editorial work.
The event takes place in the library room at Nørrebro Bibliotek and runs for two hours. Participation is free but requires registration via Billetto. You'll likely sit with a laptop, tablet or paper in your lap - there is no power outlet access during the workshop, so bring what you need for the writing exercises. Questions can be directed to librarian Pia at piolss@kk.dk.
