Kresten Osgood Quintet performs at Musikefterskolen i Humble on Wednesday, 2 September 2026 at 20:00. Admission is free. This is one of five Danish dates on the tour, which also includes stops in Frederiksberg, Hundested, Sønderborg and Ry. The quintet brings together leading musicians on saxophone, trumpet, piano and bass alongside drummer Osgood, whose influence has shaped Danish jazz over more than two decades.

About the venue: Musikefterskolen i Humble

Musikefterskolen i Humble is a boarding school on the island of Langeland, founded in 1964, with music at the centre of school life. Students choose between three music lines - rhythmic, jazz and electronic - and receive daily music lessons as well as weekly solo tuition on their instrument. The school has seven practice rooms and a professional recording studio, and students perform concerts at venues such as Store VEGA in Copenhagen.

From behind the kit, Osgood steers a quintet that has spent nearly 15 years building a shared musical language across jazz tradition and free improvisation. Co-founder of ILK Music and P8 Jazz Prize winner (2016), he was most recently honoured at Danish Music Awards Jazz 2024 for the quintet's live recording from H15 Studio in Copenhagen's Meatpacking District.

Tenor saxophonist Mads Lund Egetoft is a key figure in Danish avant-garde jazz - recognised for his raw, Archie Shepp-inflected sound and for leading Doom Orchestra, a unique ten-piece horn ensemble built around his tightly structured, hyper-minimalist writing. His credits include the DMA-winning group Boujeloud and ongoing work with Kresten Osgood's quintet.
