About

Mads Lund Egetoft is a Danish tenor saxophonist and composer with a distinctive voice in Copenhagen's experimental jazz scene. He leads Doom Orchestra - a ten-piece horn ensemble with no rhythm section, performing his hyper-minimalist compositions - and is also known from the trio Boujeloud (later Baujillaud), which won a Danish Music Award Jazz for the album 'Candy Prince' in 2016. His saxophone tone is raw and vibrating, often compared to Archie Shepp, and he stands apart from much experimental Danish jazz by anchoring his music in tight compositional structure rather than free improvisation.
