Camerata Øresund: In Wilhelmina's Footsteps

With the programme "In Wilhelmina's Footsteps", Camerata Øresund focuses on Margravine Wilhelmina von Bayreuth - composer, author, art patron and sister of Frederick the Great. At age 22, she moved to Bayreuth, where she transformed a small court into an artistic centre for music, philosophy and visual art.

Wilhelmina composed both operas and chamber music, and the concert programme alternates between her own works and music by composers from her circle. Special attention is given to her harpsichord concerto - a rarely performed work combining virtuosity with refined musical language.

The concert combines music with narration, creating a musical portrait of one of the 18th century's most vibrant court environments.
