Politimuseet LIVE. Cause of Death: Close to Forensic Medicine with Asser Thomsen — Politimuseet, Copenhagen

Asser Thomsen is a forensic pathologist at Aarhus University who works daily with suspicious deaths - where even the size of a skin scraping can determine whether it is an accident or violence, and where cotton swabs are used to secure DNA traces from both the dead and the living. In conversation with museum director Frederik Strand, he provides an insight into work that rarely involves quick solutions, but rather thoroughness, doubt and caution. Even when measurements and formulas are involved, the truth is not always clear-cut - forensic medicine is very much a matter of interpreting traces with care.

Politimuseet LIVE is the museum's conversation event, where visitors after closing time can learn more about the police and the criminal underworld, past and present. The ticket also gives free access to Politimuseet's exhibitions on the same day, and there is an opportunity to buy refreshments at the event.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and podcast recordings start at 5:00 p.m. - arrive in good time as doors close shortly after. The event takes place on the museum's 3rd floor. The building unfortunately has no elevator, so access is only via stairs.
