Mushroom Foraging Tour in Jægersborg Dyrehave
Grusparkering foran skovfogedhuset, Strandmøllevej 5, Skodsborg · 100–350 kr. · ≈ 13–47 €
Biologist and foraging expert Klara Rask from Vilde Råvarer guides you through Jægersborg Dyrehave, where the many old and large trees create ideal conditions for edible mushrooms such as porcini, bay bolete, changeable false champignon, and scutiger.
The tour begins with an introduction and continues as a walk through the forest, where Klara explains what you find along the way: season, habitat, identifying features, and toxic lookalikes. You will learn to distinguish between edible, inedible, and poisonous mushrooms, and how to improve your chances of a successful forage. At the end, tips on preparation are given, and all baskets are checked for "stowaways". The tour lasts 2-3 hours and ends at the same place it starts.
Children aged 5-13 are welcome with a child ticket for 100 DKK. The tour is not suitable for prams. Remember practical shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, a mushroom basket, and a small sharp knife - baskets and knives can be purchased as add-ons to your ticket.
This mushroom tour is a course designed primarily to prepare you for future foraging trips. There are always mushrooms to find, but no guarantee of a full basket. In case of severe drought, the tour may be cancelled or rescheduled to another date with the option of a refund (excluding fees).
