Basement presents Post Punk Fest CPH for the second time - an evening dedicated to post-punk with four bands on the bill: The Foreign Resort, Pink Turns Blue, Date at Midnight and Absence of Purpose.

Pink Turns Blue (DE) is a rock band from Cologne, formed in 1985 as part of the first generation of gothic rock in Germany. Their debut LP If Two Worlds Kiss featured a new wave sound with dark undertones and synthesizers, and the band later evolved toward dark wave. With their latest album and accompanying tour, Mic Jogwer (vocals, guitar), Luca Sammuri (bass) and Paul Richter (drums) have won Album of the Year at Byte FM, topped the German Alternative Charts and Indie Disco Top 40, received strong reviews in the international music press, and frequently played sold-out club shows from Los Angeles to Yerevan.

Date at Midnight (IT) was formed in Rome in 2007 with bands like Joy Division, Bauhaus, The Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, Christian Death and Fields of the Nephilim as primary inspirations. The band currently consists of Daniele De Angelis (vocals), Pasquale Vico (bass & synthesizer), Francesco Mignogna (drums) and Nunzio Biviano (guitar & synthesizer). With the album Fading Into This Grace from 2024 on Manic Depression Records, they have established themselves as one of the most influential Italian bands on the current goth scene.

Absence of Purpose is a post-noir rock trio that blends melancholy, post-punk guitar melodies and dark lyrics. Each member draws inspiration from different places, shaping the band's sound. The lyrics revolve around a bleak reality, but with room for hope of change. The band released their first two singles - Jesus on Adderall and Purple Light - and made their live debut in Copenhagen.
