Concerto Copenhagen is Denmark's national baroque orchestra, founded in 1991 and supported by the Danish Arts Foundation. Since 1999 it has been led by harpsichordist and conductor Lars Ulrik Mortensen, who received the Léonie Sonning Music Prize in 2007. Playing on period instruments, the ensemble pairs core European baroque repertoire with lesser-known Scandinavian works, and has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Vienna Musikverein and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. Its recordings appear on CPO, Deutsche Grammophon and Berlin Classics, among others.
