Mørdrup Kirke

Espergærde

About the venue

Mørdrup Kirke is the parish church of Mørdrup Sogn, situated in the centre of Espergærde next to Espergærdecenteret. It was built in two phases by architects Per Christiansen and Carl Svendsen: the parish rooms in 1975-1976, and the main nave with its free-standing bell tower in 1983-1984. The red-roofed, white-walled brick building shares its architectural character with the adjacent shopping centre, as both were designed by Christiansen. The altarpiece - a resurrection motif featuring a tree of life - was created by artist Arne Lundsteen Hansen.
