DR Vokalensemblet is the Danish Broadcasting Corporation's professional chamber choir, founded in January 2007 with 18 singers. The ensemble is internationally recognised for its clear Nordic sound and covers a wide range of repertoire, from Renaissance polyphony to newly commissioned works. Since 2023 it has been led by Slovenian chief conductor Martina Batič, and the choir has received two Grammy nominations among its many international accolades.
DR Koncerthuset presented in March 2026 the 2026-27 season, in which DR Vokalensemblet participates in about 30 concerts focusing on myths, faith and humanity's search for meaning.
DR Vokalensemblet performed at Marmorkirken in Copenhagen as part of Copenhagen Light Festival 2026 with the concert 'Heavenly Light', which included two world premieres by Christoffer Møller.
In August 2025, DR Vokalensemblet performed at BBC Proms in London - both with an independent concert and in Beethoven's 9th Symphony together with DR Symfoniorkestret.
The album 'O Listen' with chief conductor Martina Batič received rave reviews in Gramophone and other international media, including 4- and 5-star ratings.
DR Vokalensemblet participated in the 2025-26 season in about 30 concerts, which included marking the 500th anniversary of Renaissance master Palestrina and Arvo Pärt's 90th birthday.
